PEI restrictions on masks and provincial entry further loosened

July 13, 2021

The mandatory indoor mask rule has been dropped effective July 9, 2021. Masks are still recommended for people who have yet to receive their second vaccination dose and for businesses that serve the public in close quarters like retail and restaurants. However, this is a recommendation only. Business owners are not required to ask customers about their vaccination status.

PEI will also no longer test people who arrive in the province with a PEI Pass. Currently, only Atlantic Canadians are eligible to receive a PEI Pass, which allows a person to visit PEI without self-isolating.
