Updates for bulk and self-serve retailers in Ontario

October 5, 2021

Toronto changed its policies on the sale of bulk and self-serve items last week to align with the rest of Ontario. Companies no longer need to work with the health unit for special approval to operate, and now need only comply with the provisions under Step 3 of Ontario’s reopening plan.

In other words, companies selling bulk in Toronto need to articulate corporate protocols in their safety plan, and may need to work with health units if they raise specific concerns.
