RCC advocates for a fair distribution of Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQ) for dairy, poultry and egg products

At the beginning of the year, the Government of Canada resumed their consultation on the Allocation and Administration of TRQs for Dairy, Poultry and Egg Products after a brief pause due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, some of the proposed changes would heavily favour processors and either partially or completely exclude retailers, driving up food prices for Canadians.

RCC is advocating that the government work towards a more equitable system by increasing quota amounts for all food retailers, ensuring consumers continue to receive a wide selection of products at competitive prices. RCC’s proposed changes would bring fairness back to the market and ensure the best value for the consumer.
