B.C. Commercial Packaging and Paper Waste Working Group update
March 28, 2023The B.C. working group, primarily made up of regional and local government waste management officials, charged with discussing options and proposing pilot projects for the management of commercial waste, has changed its mandate.
The initial mandate was “the Working Group will primarily focus on interim opportunities for increasing packaging and paper products (PPP) diversion from small commercial retailers, that can be implemented within the next several years.” That mandate was changed to “all commercial ICI [industrial, commercial, and institutional] PPP is in scope for possible options development, recognizing Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) as a particular area of focus for discussion.”
