RCC advocates for joint North American standards on proposed amendments to Canada’s energy efficiency regulations

July 6, 2021

RCC has submitted comments on behalf of its members to Natural Resource Canada (NRCan) on proposed amendments to Canada’s Energy Efficiency Regulations. RCC advocated for NRCan to develop energy standards in tandem with the United States to improve the energy efficiency of consumer products without mandating that any one certification program be required. This will help maximize consumer choice and minimize costs.

The next steps are to follow up with officials to ensure our comments are incorporated into the proposed regulations set to be pre-published in Canada Gazette, Part I in the fall.
