COVID-19 order for B.C. restaurants, cafeterias and coffee shops changes

July 6, 2021

On June 30, the B.C. Provincial Health Officer made a new Food and Liquor Serving Premises Order. The new order replaces earlier orders and provides the parameters for food and liquor-serving premises during Step 3 (July 1 to earliest September 7).

According to the requirements, operators must determine and document maximum occupancy, take steps to prevent congregation of patrons outside the premises, put measures in place to avoid congestion inside the premises, ensure patrons remain seated while consuming food or drink on the premises, and ensure patrons do not move from table to table.
