B.C. authorizes public health officers to close workplaces with COVID-19 cases

April 8, 2021

Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, today enacted a new Provincial Health Order allowing public health officials to order a workplace closed. Read details on the order.

In the announcement, Dr. Henry described the order as applying to workplaces with three or more cases where transmission has been proven to have occurred in the workplace.  Dr. Henry also stated that protecting the supply of essential goods, such as food and drugs, to British Columbians was paramount and that closures in that sector would be avoided.  RCC was already aware of a number of stores that had been ordered closed for 10 days prior to Dr. Henry’s announcement.
