Newfoundland & Labrador proof of vaccination for front-facing employees ends

May 31, 2022

Reminder that Newfoundland and Labrador’s Mandatory Vaccine Regulations will be suspended and thus, “cease to have effect” on June 1, 2022. This rule has required employees in front-facing industries like pharmacies and quick service restaurants to be vaccinated. It also required vaccination for the vendors, suppliers, etc. who entered into these businesses. The sunset clause for these regulations is clearly shown in Section 5 of the COVID-19 Vaccine Regulations. The Newfoundland and Labrador government used the term suspended in its June press release on this issue so as to allow government the flexibility to reinstitute these rules, should another wave of COVID-19 hit the province. See the June 1, 2022 press release for more information.
