Alberta retailers going slowly with easing of restrictions

July 6, 2021

On June 1, 2021, Alberta entered its final reopening stage, including the removal of all public health measures. This marked the first time in over 16 months that stores have not had to adhere to prescribed COVID-related health orders.

As anticipated, retailers appear to be cautious in the removal of most safety protocols as they gain a better sense of the evolving expectations of customers and employees. During these first few days, stores have been reporting a growing number customers arriving without masks, and RCC will continue to monitor common practices as they emerge.
