Alberta’s retail guidelines to be fully removed in July: now what?

June 24, 2021

On July 1, 2021, Alberta will remove all remaining health orders applicable to retail, as stores across the province return to 100% capacity and are left to determine what protocols they may consider leaving in place for the time being. RCC anticipates stores may update return polices, remove directional arrows, and reopen closed areas, but may maintain plexiglass barriers and employee masking.

RCC will survey retailers as they transition out of government-mandated COVID-19-related restrictions and how they plan to establish a “new normal.” We expect this to be of increasing interest as across the country we move closer to a post pandemic era.
