Danielle Smith wins Alberta UCP leadership: How retail is impacted
October 13, 2022Last week in the sixth round of preferential balloting, United Conservative Party (UCP) members selected Danielle Smith as their next leader, with just over 53% of the vote. On October 11, 2022, Smith was sworn in as Premier and is expected to announce her new cabinet on October 21, 2022.
RCC anticipates she will make several changes to the current Cabinet and is preparing for a rippling effect throughout political staff, senior bureaucrats and political appointments. RCC will be reaching out to the new Premier and as necessary, reintroduce priorities to new Ministers.
