Manitoba minimum wage mitigation announcement

October 13, 2022

RCC has been advised that the Manitoba government is expected to announce this week a program that will help small and mid-sized businesses mitigate the impacts of the short notice increase to minimum wage.

On October 1, 2022 Manitoba’s minimum wage was increased from $11.90 to $13.50 as part of a 12-month path to anticipated $15 base wage. Employers were notified on August 18, 2022, allowing for only a few weeks to adjust, and at the time the province indicated a plan to support employers with this short this transition.
