BC Paid Vaccination Leave Becomes Law

April 20, 2021

BC passed legislation to provide up to 3 hours paid leave for full and part-time employees for the purpose of getting a vaccination. This leave is retroactive to April 19, 2021.

Employers may ask the employee to provide ‘reasonably sufficient proof’ that the employee is entitled to vaccination leave, however, the employer may not request a note from a medical or nurse practitioner, or registered nurse for this leave.
