Hurricane Fiona: Federal relief programs for businesses - Retail Council of Canada

On October 4, 2022, the federal government announced the creation of the Hurricane Fiona Recovery Fund. Details are pending, however it is known that this fund will be administered by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).

The fund will provide assistance to eligible businesses and individuals who were affected by Hurricane Fiona; do not have insurance, and do not qualify under the various Disaster Financial Assistance arrangements that the Federal government has with provincial governments. Any assistance for a commercial entity would be limited to the time where the business was unable to be open, due to the hurricane.
