Statistics Canada report shows growth in QSRs

August 15, 2023

Quick-service restaurants are finally emerging from a post-COVID-19 pandemic haze, according to a recent report from Statistics Canada.

The report, titled “Is Canada becoming a fast-food nation,” noted that in April 2023, full-service restaurant sales ($3.4 billion) were neck and neck with those of limited-service eateries ($3.5 billion).

“It seems that, while fast food joints satisfied our cravings during the pandemic, Canadians’ desire for full-service dining is returning,” the report suggested.
