New Brunswick announces Path to Opening

May 27, 2021

New Brunswick’s Path To Opening was announced today, with full details now available on the government website. The reopening plan consists of three phased steps to move New Brunswick to the Green level of its COVID-19 protocol.

Highlights of the approach:

Phase 1

Provided that at least 75% of New Brunswickers have received at least their first vaccine dose by June 7, 2021, the province will open up, with no isolation or testing required, for those travelling from PEI, Newfounland and Labrador, Avignon and Témiscouata (Quebec). Truckers will no longer be subjected to testing and home isolation requirements.

Phase 2

The expectation is that by July 1, 2021, the Atlantic Bubble will be opened to Nova Scotia, and some international travel into the province will be allowed. Restaurants, gyms and salons will be allowed to operate at regular capacity with maintenance of contact lists for clients. Masks must be used within two metres or when not eating/drinking.

Phase 3

As of August 2, 2021 the goal is for all restrictions to be lifted.
