Vaccination requirements for workers in Newfoundland and Labrador

December 1, 2021

As of December 17, 2021, all employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 if they work in a business that requires proof of vaccination from customers.

While most retailers are exempt from these rules , quick service restaurants, pharmacies and cinemas are not exempt. Where pharmacies are located inside a mass merchant / grocery retail store, the requirement to be vaccinated only applies to the employees working behind the pharmacy counter.

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has committed to providing these details as soon as possible in an updated mandatory order.
