Reopening of dining rooms and movie theatres in Quebec

Given the epidemiological situation and the many pressures to which it is subject, the government has announced the easing of certain measures.

Thus, throughout the province of Quebec, as of January 31, 2022: reopening of restaurant dining rooms with the following restrictions:

  • 50 % capacity
  • 4 people or 2 “bubbles” per table
  • Closing at midnight (end of food and beverage sales at 11 pm)
  • Presentation of the vaccine passport

Throughout the province of Quebec, as of February 7, 2022: reopening of cinemas, theatres and amphitheatres with the following restrictions:

  • 50 % capacity
  • Maximum of 500 people inside and 1,000 people outside
  • Presentation of the vaccine passport

N.B.: The reopening date for bars, spas, and gyms has not been announced as of yet.

Vaccination passport

  • The Ministerial Order requiring retailers over 1,500 m2 (with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations) to request proof of vaccination is now available.
  • The end of this obligation has not been determined, but RCC continues its efforts to ensure that this measure is in place for as short a period as possible.
