B.C. launches new temporary foreign worker registry

September 28, 2020

Employers who hire temporary foreign workers in British Columbia are now required by law to register with the provincial government. B.C. has launched a new online registry for employers. You do not need to register if you hire employees under the Provincial Nominee Program or the International Mobility Program. You are not required to register for currently employed temporary foreign workers unless you plan to hire more temporary foreign workers.

Registration is required prior to application for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).  Registration includes provision of corporate, contact and other information – and takes about 15 minutes to complete.  For further information, please contact our Vancouver office at vancouver@retailcouncil.org or 604-736-0368.
