Calgary Council repeals mask bylaw

July 6, 2021

Calgary City Council voted on Monday to repeal its mask bylaw, becoming the last municipality in the province to do so. Accordingly, requirements to wear masks in retail stores have now been removed across Alberta, with the province united under the guidance provided by the Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health during its final stage of reopening.

Mandatory masking remains in place for public transit and certain health care settings, and as determined by individual operators.
