Municipal elections – A wave of renewal in Quebec

On November 7, 2021, Quebecers went to the polls to elect their municipal representatives. While Valérie Plante was re-elected in Montreal, a wave of renewal swept over the majority of the larger cities in Quebec.
An impressive number of women and people under 40 with progressive allegiances are at the helm of major municipal regions such as Longueuil, Laval, Saguenay and Sherbrooke, among others. An analysis done by the firm National paints an interesting portrait of this election.
