New COVID-19 sick leave program announced in Manitoba

The Manitoba government has announced a new Manitoba Pandemic Sick Leave program to provide direct financial assistance to help fill gaps between federal programs and current provincial employment standards for paid sick leave.
The program provides employers with up to $600 per employee for up to five full days of COVID-19 related sick leave between May 7 and September 25, 2021. These days do not have to be taken consecutively.
Full and part-time employees not currently receiving benefits are eligible, however RCC is working to close other gaps including expanding eligibility in the event where a worker has used some or all of their paid sick days prior to May 7, 2021.
