Alberta Jobs Now grant intake reopens
June 7, 2022The Alberta government has opened the final intake period for its highly successful Alberta Jobs Now program, and initiative that is designed to help employers address potential labour shortages. Eligible employers can hire and train up to 10 new full-time or part-time workers, with grants covering 25 per cent of an employee’s annual salary and training costs, up to a maximum of $25,000 per employee.
About $90 million in total funding is available with applications reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are allocated. The retail sector received 7.47 per cent of funds granted during the first two phases of the program.
