RCC advocacy leads to energy drinks in Alberta liquor stores

Following nearly a year of coordinated advocacy by RCC, Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis has amended the Retail Liquor Store Handbook to allow retail liquor store licensees to sell energy drinks in their stores.

This was an important issue to a few of our members and is in part a recognition that the province’s red tape was inconsistent with other jurisdictions, and in part with specific clarity from Health Canada that drinking energy drinks mixed with alcohol has no immediate risk to health.
