Vancouver council commits to review 25 cent cup fee

Vancouver’s mayor and councillors have spoken about plans to review the city’s year-old cup fee.

Councillors have said they would remove the fee unless there was proof it was reducing waste.

Businesses selling beverages in single-use cups have been required to charge 25 cents per cup, post signage, offer reusable alternatives, and itemize the charge on receipts since January 1, 2022.
