RCC | CCCD on the public consultation on food waste in the city of Montréal

On February 4, 2021, RCC | CCCD participated in the consultation on food waste by the City of Montreal. The consultation was an outcome of the public consultation petition filed in November 2019.
In addition of putting forward a myriad of in-store initiatives, RCC | CCCD highlighted members’ contributions to the Supermarket Recovery Program that was overseen by Food Banks of Quebec.
RCC | CCCD advised members from the Commission on Water, the Environment, Sustainable Development and Large Parks, that there were several other issues also impacting the food waste fight, including regulations, food safety and consumer behaviour.
