Special emergency measures in effect in Quebec in part of the Bas-Saint-Laurent region as of Saturday

Given the upward trend in COVID-19 cases in the Bas-Saint-Laurent, the government announced (press release in French) that special emergency measures will apply to some jurisdictions in that region as of May 1, 2021 at 12:01 am.:   

  • Kamouraska 
  • The Basques 
  • Rimouski-Neigette  
  • Rivière-du-Loup  
  • Temiscouata 

Relevant measures for retailers include:    

  • Curfew at 8 pm (business to be closed at 7:30 pm at the latest).   
  • Non-essential businesses remain closed, sale of essential products only.
