B.C. mask order published

Dr. Bonnie Henry announced on August 24, 2021 that she was reimposing a mask mandate for indoor public spaces. The order was published on September 2, 2021. There will be a requirement until at least October 31, 2021 for British Columbians to wear masks in prescribed spaces which include retail stores, malls, service businesses, hotels, gyms and fitness facilities, and public transportation. 

There are exemptions for: children under 12 years of age; persons who are unable to put on or take off a mask; persons with psychological, behavioural or health conditions; persons with a physical, cognitive or mental impairment; and, while consuming food or drink at a designated space within an indoor public space.

Operators of indoor public spaces are required to display signage in areas covered by the order to notify persons that masks are required in accordance with this order.
