British Columbia changes meat inspection regulation affecting Farmgate-licensed producers now in force

October 22, 2021

As of October 1, 2021, there are new labelling requirements for retailers who resell food products or dishes that contain meat that originated from a Farmgate or Farmgate Plus establishment (small producers who slaughter their own animals on-farm). There are different labelling and written notification requirements depending on if the food product is packaged or not.
