Mandatory COVID-19 safety plans reimposed for B.C. businesses

January 10, 2022

B.C. had COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plans in effect from June 2020 through June 2021. As a response to the situation caused by the Omicron variant, Dr. Bonnie Henry asked retailers and restaurants to reimpose those plans in mid-December. Today, Dr. Henry has issued a public health order making the reimposition of the plans mandatory.

A fillable template for businesses is found on WorkSafeBC’s website here. WorkSafeBC guidance (not mandatory) for retail settings is here. Businesses must display a copy of their COVID-19 Safety Plan both on-line and in a place in the business where it is visible to employees, contractors and customers.
