Alberta Retail Sector Faces Ongoing Skilled Labour Demand 

While recent reports hint at a softening of the immediate post-pandemic worker shortage, the sector still grapples with filling specific, skill-intensive roles. The 2023 Alberta Labour Market Survey, conducted in partnership with the University of Alberta and the Government of Alberta, unveiled strategies to ease future recruitment and retention challenges. Retail Council of Canada is working closely with the UCP government to turn these insights into actionable plans, aiming to strengthen the backbone of Alberta’s retail industry.
