September 7, 2022

As a reminder for members selling heat pumps in B.C., as of April 1, 2022, they are exempt from provincial sales tax. Heat pumps include: electric heat pumps, renewable fuel-powered heat pumps, fossil fuel-powered heat pumps and hybrid heat pumps that are single factory-integrated units that combine a heat pump and a furnace, boiler, water heater or similar system.

The exemption includes any parts or components included as part of the heat pump unit or hybrid heat pump unit on the initial purchase of the unit. More information here.
