Federal government announces programs for digital adaptation

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced last week that the new Canada Digital Adoption Program is now open and accepting applications. The program aims to help retailers and other Canadian SME’s grow their online presence and upgrade or adopt their digital technologies.

The program has two funding streams:

1) Grow Your Business Online which will provide micro-grants of up to $2,400 to help with the costs related to adopting digital technologies, and;

2) Boost Your Business Technology which will provide grants to help pay for the services of a digital advisor which can support in developing a company’s digital adoption plan. The stream will also provide businesses the opportunity to secure a 0% interest loan from the Business Development Bank of Canada to facilitate the acquisition of new technology.
